Anemone ‘Lucky Charm’

Walking into our anemone house, this plant charmed my eye today. Dark red to plum leaves atop a dark green canopy was a stunning contrast to all the other solid green foliage of the other anemones. The underside or these leaves also is a deep red, as well as the inner stems. It seems like the plum red of the new leaves change to a dark green as they age. But there always seems to be a showy contrast going on.

This compact 30 inch tall, at flowering, anemone is a mounding charm of interest all growing season. The flowers stands above with rose-pink petals resembling the variety  September Charm.

Plant anemones under  partial shade in to rich well drained soil. Charm the understory of your tree drip line. This is a good one!

  1. My Anemone plants also have reddish underside of foliage but I am not sure if they are Anemone ‘Lucky Charm’. Is it the only variety has reddish underside of foliage? Or my plants could be some other variety? Since I don’t have the plant name tag so I will appreciate the name guidance, thanks! Jane

      1. I don’t think its flower stem is short. But pink for sure, so far I do not have picture of flowers. What are those varieties with reddish underside of foliage?
